About 2, no booster, just straight on to normal chair.

OddBodd Wed nineteen-Jun-thirteen 16:42:50

About 18 months for my DS1, he went into a booster chair because he hated the high chair and we were desperate. Turned out he hated the booster too which makes sense! DS2 is all the same in his loftier chair at 17 months and no plans to modify yet.

Ds2 still in high chair at just three simply the table flips back so he tin can get in and out by himself. Really wish we had got a Trip Trap equally dreading him going in a proper chair at the latest earlier school. Not enough chairs already.

I've merely taken ours to the charity shop - DD2 is 2.4 but hasn't used it for a couple of months and was climbing in and out of it (so no apply at all really!) for a skilful few months before that. She merely sits/stands on the chair at the tabular array - booster seat wouldn't contain her hmm.

WhispersOfWickedness Wed 19-Jun-13 18:49:11

DS was nearly 3, otherwise he would run around and not eat his dinner. DD is 21 months and would exist fine on a chair now simply she has a fear of heights when it suits her and won't entertain the idea at the moment hmm

3. My dd at 18 months is far as well small for a booster. Ds asked to sit down straight on a normal chair from 3, he doesn't similar boosters.

Depends on size and trustworthiness of the child. My DD was well-nigh 2.three. She has a booster seat virtually of the time simply can sit on a chair if needed.
If your DC is tall and can exist trusted to sit down vaugely notwithstanding and not cover everywhere with food and so any time effectually 2 ish.

16mo DS is very independent and I notice he really sits better when information technology'due south through his ain pick rather than considering he's trapped in then we are going to try to large tabular array and chairs from tomorrow he does it at my sisters for dinner and then I'm sure he can do it at habitation too.

We take a big high chair which was fine in our former house only no space for it in the new one and i'm ill to decease of putting it upward and down!

xi months blush. She hated the highchair and refused to swallow while she was sitting in it. She's ii.seven at present and has been sitting on normal chairs for about 6 months.

I'm sure my MIL would say I'thousand negligent.

lola88 Thu 20-Jun-13 20:08:46

Just to let you know our showtime twenty-four hour period of no loftier chair went very well DS ate well and stayed on his chair with some reminds.

DD2 has just adult an disfavor to her antilop this last week aged 17 months. She likes to sit down on the large chairs like her sis.

DeathMetalMum Thu 20-Jun-13 20:24:07

Dd is 2.5 never had a high chair simply still in her booster seat (with try on yet) but pushed up to the table. The tray catches most of the crumbs which is why it is nonetheless on. She as well volition sit strapped in the seat to do painting/playdough/felt tips and other activities at the table.

Raaraathenoisybaby Thu 20-Jun-13 23:12:44

Dd1 was 3 when I finally allow her sit down on a chair Only its mostly been because we swallow at a breakfast bar and I was scared she would fall off the stools. She was in a me also for a long time. I accept been berated on here for having a 3 yr old in a highchair but it kept her at the tabular array! She liked it anyhow grin

my 5 twelvemonth old still uses one at dinner fourth dimensionblush

Camomila Mon 26-Jun-17 15:30:28

We've only moved DS (14months) to a booster seat at the table (merely £8 in Tesco!). He'southward much happier eating like the big people. I call back the bar between his legs on the loftier chair was getting on his nerves and he kept trying to stand.

Ferrynice Mon 26-Jun-17 15:42:43

My DD has her ain little tabular array and chair for breakfast and snacks, so for lunch and tea when we consume together she has a booster seat, she came out of her high chair just before she was ane.

ii and half twelvemonth old still in Tripp trapp has no want to go out of it. Definitely 1 of our best buys ,practice painting and colouring at the table in it too .
